Laser Eye

The very latest development from Baush and Lomb is a system called Zyoptix. This is a system that takes LASIK to a new frontier.

Laser eye treatment provides an alternative to glasses or contact lens. The laser alters the shape of the cornea (front surface of the eye) to improve unaided sight.

Suitability:

If your distance vision without glasses is poor. Your eyesight should not have changed significantly within the last year. There is no upper age limit although older patients with low levels of short sight will need reading glasses

Will I have to leave my contact lens out?

Contact lens affect the surface of the eye and must be removed before consultation (you will be given instructions on booking). You will be given a full eye examination and opportunity to ask questions.

Dose it hurt?

There is no pain at all during treatment owing to the application of anesthetic drops.

Will I need glasses in the future?

The majority of patients should not need glasses for distance vision again. All patients will need reading glasses at around 45 as do all normal sighted people from this age.
